Woman International Magazine: A Revolutionary Woman's Lifestyle Magazine
for Asian Women
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 17, 2004 -- WA, a for
profit company announced today its new woman’s lifestyle magazine
slated to launch in Q1 of 2005 called Woman International Magazine, a
beauty-and-brains magazine aimed at the lucrative and under-served Asian
Women’s market.
Woman International Magazine, with Reshma Dordi, host of Showbiz India
TV, picked to be the woman to grace the cover of its first issue, is a
complete lifestyle magazine aimed at the powerful Asian woman’s
category. Launch date is set to be Q1 2005, headed up by Siara Nazir,
one of the leading women in the consumer publishing industry.
“Being an Asian woman myself, I saw a need to unite, empower and
serve the Asian woman’s market, but I didn’t want to create
a magazine filled with only pages of fashion and glossy photo shots. Like
the true Asian woman, I wanted to give equal time to the substance and
brains behind the beauty,” says Siara Nazir, Publisher of Woman
International Magazine, “Asian women have a unique cultural identity
that requires a different kind of perspective. These women are powerful,
provocative and sensual and also are spiritual, enlightened and masters
of their own domain. Woman International Magazine strives to showcase
ordinary Asian women doing extraordinary things with their life. This
magazine will inspire everyone to realize their own true potential.”
From article on how to look and feel your best to starting and running
your own business, Woman International Magazine covers all aspects of
the Asian woman’s life.
The magazine is produced and developed by and for Asian women who understand
their subscribers better than any mass-market title out on the newsstand
today. The magazine has several prominent Asian women hosting specialized
columns to help Asian women cope with the unique problems and situations
they face in everyday life.
Dipa Patel, M.D., who heads up the Medical Q&A column, has been instrumental
in women’s health issues and currently practices at UCSF Medical
Center. Dr. Dipa Patel has done significant work with The Elizabeth Wende
Breast Clinic as well as the Boston University Medical Center.
Monika Sharma, Psy.D., who holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and
will be hosting the special relationship column has done tremendous work
with women across the US working with groups such as the Chicago Women’s
Health Center. She is one of the founders and a member of Apna Ghar, (http://www.apnaghar.org)
a non-profit organization which since 1990 has served over 3800 domestic
violence clients. But these powerful women cover just a few of the many
faces that both grace the covers and host or write columns for Woman International
Magazine. The magazine is geared toward Asian women, but the inspiration,
editorial, vision and wisdom is one for any woman regardless of her ethnicity.
The magazine also has some key subscriber value incentives like the trade-marked
“Perk In A Box”—a special red box exclusively for randomly
selected Woman International Magazine subscribers packed sample cosmetics,
coupons, travel vouchers, and more. But, it doesn’t stop there.
Once you enter the world of Woman International as a subscriber, you have
access to special season blow out issues fashion previews, tips, and even
ethnic designer wear.
