physician, Joe Canales.
Observing the dating difficulties of his colleagues during his
residency, Dr. Canales recognized the need for an efficient method of
meeting other single professionals. Dr. Canales said, "These
individuals keep incredibly restrictive schedules and are isolated by
the nature of their work. They are interested in meeting other
professional people but have difficulty doing this locally."
Canales' brother, Roger, website designer and research scientist at
the University of California at Santa Cruz, saw the same dating
challenges occurring among his peers. Roger Canales said, "There
is a
frustration with dating and meeting people among professionals in the
scientific fields. Date-A-Doc is a logical way to help make personal
connections." Because the goal is to help doctors and others seek
potential dates without spending a lot of time, Dr. Canales has
