Get into the Minds of Today's Young Women

By The Intelligence Factory

Interested in the mindset and mood of young women around the country? Want to hear why smart is sexiest, and how savvy young women express themselves when voting for a president and speaking out on a number of topics?
The GLAMOUR "Do Vote" poll uncovered more intriguing findings. Here are a few toplines from the survey:

* Prioritizing Health: Health issues are increasingly important to women. Compared with a year ago, most women are more concerned about their health, are committed to spending more time on their physical and mental well-being, are buying healthier foods and frequently read labels when shopping, and are taking vitamins/supplements. In addition, they believe it is critical to provide healthcare for all Americans.
* Women in the Market...the Stock Market, That Is: After centuries of relying almost entirely on men for financial guidance, women are taking control of their own financial futures. In the U.S., women are now responsible for 50 percent of stock-market investing. In the GLAMOUR poll, women show an increasing sense of fiscal responsibility and are spending more time managing their finances than they were a year ago.
* Cash Rich, Time Poor: The Intelligence Factory has noted the rise of a "time famine" among citizens of the Western world, who by and large have not cashed in higher wages for increased leisure time. This time famine is felt acutely by women. In the "Do Vote" poll, women report that they are doing more of just about everything than they were a year ago (from doing chores to working out to spending time with family to logging on to the computer/Internet). Not surprisingly, they also report that managing their time has become more difficult and they are experiencing more stress than ever before.
* Satisfied Singles: There is definitely life in the absence of marriage, according to young women polled by GLAMOUR. Most of them agree that they can remain single and still have personally fulfilling lives.
